The full field for the inaugural U.S. Adaptive Open – a new national championship that will showcase the world’s best golfers with disabilities on Pinehurst Resort & Country Club’s Course No. 6 from July 18-20 – has been set by the USGA.
The championship is open to both male and female professional and amateur golfers with a World Handicap System™ Handicap Index® of 36.4 or less and an eligible impairment confirmed by a WR4GD Pass. A player’s Handicap Index was the primary factor for determining the field of 96 players, with at least five male players and two female players across eight impairment categories. The impairment categories are as follows:
Arm Impairment
Intellectual Impairment
Leg Impairment
Multiple Limb Amputee
Neurological Impairment
Seated Players
Short Stature
Vision Impairment
The championship will be contested over 54 holes of stroke play. Multiple sets of tees will be utilized. Carts will be permitted for all players and caddies.
is a 36 Hole Stroke play event run by the Amputee Association of Maine. The event is a ranking event for WR4GD and the USAGA. We are a tournament for amputees and able-bodied golfers with an overall champion and able bodied and amputee winners.

The clinic will be led by Adam Benza from the Eastern Amputee Golf Association and Rick Kline, PGA owner of Sitter’s at Sinking Spring. They will demonstrate some adaptive golf equipment before leading the group onto the course to practice hitting golf balls.

Your invited to a live cohort virtual Learning Management Environment that will be the flagship for our Adaptive Golfers Player Development Certification courses. Accredited by the LPGA and the PGA of America, Adaptive Golfers is as an Approved Education provider and all professionals will receive 14 C.U.s or MSRs towards their certification growth requirements upon completion.
